London, England - The City of Cities

Tower BridgeLondon is the working capital city of England and of the UK. A crucial settlement for approximately two millennia, London is nowadays one of the world's most significant business and financial centres. Its involvement in politics, culture, education, entertainment, media, fashion and the arts all lend to its position as one of the key global cities.

London is the biggest and the most populous city in the European Union. Its population is very cosmopolitan, drawing from a diverse range of peoples, cultures and faiths, speaking over three hundred dissimilar languages. Occupants of London are referred to as Londoners.

Tower of LondonLondon is a global transfer hub, with 5 international airports and a large port. It serves as the biggest aviation hub in the world. Its head airport, Heathrow, carries more international passengers than any other.

London is a huge tourist place to visit with many iconic landmarks such the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye among its many attractions. London has many nicknames like 'The City of Cities' and 'Old London Town', although none is its defining one. Samuel Johnson one time mentioned that "When a man is tired of London he is tired of life".

The London Eye at TwilightLondon is an global centre of culture in conditions of arts, music, festivals, museums and a lot more. The diverseness of cultures within London is so wonderful that an easy definition is impossible. The city is home to about three hundred nationalities that have over time moulded and formed the city's culture into what it is today.
